images not showing

  1. I have been able to send a post from my Blackberry but the images never show up when I do this. Some code appears that references the image, but that is what shows up on the post--the code and not the image.

Here is an example of a (nonesense) post with an image just to show that output appears.

    div class=”wp-caption alignnone” style=”width: 310px”a href=””img class=”alignnone size-full” src=”” alt=”dining” title=”rm” width=”300″ height=”225″ //ap class=”wp-caption-text”dining/p/divThis is the text

Note that if I post from within Wordpress, all works well with nicely formatted html. What is mangling the code when it comes from my Blackberry?

  2. I should add that both Atom Publishing Protocol or one of the XML-RPC publishing interfaces are enabled.

Also, the image intended for the post is transferred to the Wordpress site and the link to its location in the garbled code appears to be correct.

  3. Seem to have solved it myself with this plugin (which also explains where the problem was located).

    LibXML2 Fix

Work around for some versions of libxml2 2.7.x that strip out brackets when parsing XML. This plugin fixes XML-RPC requests that are mangled because of this problem. The real fix for this (making the use of this plugin unnecessary) is to use PHP 5.2.9+ with libxml2 2.7.3+. For more information about this problem see

  4. I thought it was an old issue and I removed it from the FAQ page few months ago. Unfortunately some host providers don't update the software stack so often...
