CANNOT UPLOAD NEW POSTS, system says "A Server Communication Error Occurred"

  1. Good day, everyone.

Please can anyone at the technical support desk do me a massive favor by helping to sort out whatever problem has caused my WordPress for BlackBerry 1.5 to consistently return a message which says "A Server Communication Error Occurred" since April 10th?

    My blog address is:

I run a blog(NOT self-hosted) on a BlackBerry 5.0 OS. I use a BlackBerry Curve 8520. My connection type is EDGE and I use the WordPress for BlackBerry 1.5 software application.

Being a highly mobile blogger, ninety five percent of my blog posts are logged in using WordPress for BlackBerry. Perhaps I need to add that my blog is a rather thriving one, having notched up 285,000 page views since October 2011 - nearly 65,000 hits last month(March) and a daily average of 2,300+ hits.

Please, I really need to have this problem sorted out urgently. My blog followers need to be served, are asking to know what has gone awry and I cannot meet their needs at this time, to my utmost discomfiture. I have tried everything, including changing my settings to "ALLOW" in the master control panel and have even reinstalled the application altogether. Nothing seems to be working.

    Again, the PROBLEM

    Blog address:

    (ERROR MESSAGE) says

    "A server communication error occurred"

My WordPress for BB won't now upload posts, it was working fine until April 10th using the manufacturer-defined default settings

When I highlighted the "Advanced Options" in the "Setup" section of the application, I got an additional message attached which said:

    "TCP Conn: DNS error
    BIS Conn: Null"

    Obviously, I need...HELP !!

  2. I will try it on my following blog. It would be helpful if you could put screeshots.

  3. I have downloaded and I will try it on my following blog. It sounds nice plugin to me. But screenshots will be helpful to find out how exactly the plugin looks like.

  4. I have installed in my plugin list at following site.

But for adsesne, will Adman try to put adsense ads for each post and if so, it may not comply with google TOS as there will be many posts with many corresponding adsense ad blogs. Now I may try to use other ad networks.

  5. Thx it's exactly what I was looking for. I'm not really using Tags, I'm rather using Categories and this is perfect for me. Also, the configuration panel is complete: you can change how they align, the min and max size, the title...

Easy to install, easy to configure, easy to appreciate!

  6. I do not think that ~50 Spam postings are entered manually here.

As I am doing some malware analysis, I know that it is possible accessing the IE engine from infected MS Windows boxes.

If you want me to, we could do some debug work on your plugin; logging some things about the spammers like user-agent strings and simmilar. Maybe there's something useful in the results we could use...

This plugin will make it possible to add random picasa images to your wordpress site. Just fill in your picasa username and select how many images you want to visualise.

This section describes how to install the plugin and get it working.

    1. Upload picasaWebAlbumWidget.php to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
    2. Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress

A question that someone might have

    An answer to that question.

    What about foo bar?

    Answer to foo bar dilemma.

  8. OK, I switched onto a WiFi network a shot while ago and everything worked perfectly. Switching back to EDGE connectivity, the problem of error messages began to happen again.

  9. You need to add a line of code to the index.php and archive.php files of your template so that they display posts in your specified order:
Open each of these files and find the line that reads:

Now, immediately before that line, paste the following code into archive.php:

    WHAT CODE GOES HERE?????????

And the following code into index.php:

    WHAT CODE GOES HERE?????????

I have added the plugin to the plugins folder and activated it but it is not working. Are there lines of code that must be added to the archive.php and index.php?

  10. You need to add a line of code to the index.php and archive.php files of your template so that they display posts in your specified order:
Open each of these files and find the line that reads:

    WHAT LINE DO I LOOK FOR? = <?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>

Now, immediately before that line, paste the following code into archive.php:

    WHAT CODE GOES HERE? = <?php query_posts("cat=".$cat. "&orderby=menu_order&order=ASC"); ?>

And the following code into index.php:

    WHAT CODE GOES HERE? = <?php query_posts("orderby=menu_order &order=ASC"); ?>

I found the above scripts by going to Plugins in the admin section and clicking on Orderposts in the Plugins column(left most column)of the plugins table. The plugin has to be installed in order to do this. Once you click on the Orderposts you will go to the Orderpost home page with the full instructions including the script to find and the scripts to paste into the index.php and archive.php files.

  11. I tried to use this with WP 2.2 - Maybe I'm having a conflicting problem with another plugin or something, but when I activate this plugin, I can no longer view the plugins page. I haven't looked in to it beyond that..

  12. May be having a conflict between this and another plugin, but I got the following message when I tried to import my videntity settings: "hKit error: these required functions are not available: dom_import_simplexml()"

All I did was downloaded the plugin. Unzipped it. Change permissions so the web server user owned the plugin. Activated the plugin and then put in my videntity username and clicked import.

I just upgraded to WP 2.2 BTW..

  13. Ahh, ha ha ha ha, just noticed that compatible up to 2.1 note - would have been smart to notice that before! Sorry.

Any idea when/if a 2.2 version will be available?

  14. Great plugin, the caching function skyrockets performance. I have installed it on my free blog hosting powered by WordPress MU. Thank you very much!

  15. A little bit of trouble at the installation, there were conflicts with SlimStats plugin, but all turned out ok: free wordpress blog hosting. I like this bit: ยป 1272 Emails Were Sent Successfully :D

  16. Domain Mirror is a plugin to allow one Wordpress installation to be accessed form more than one domain.

If you have more than one domain and want to point both of them at the same Wordpress installation, you'll find that it doesn't really work very well. Wordpress creates its own internal URLs based on the settings in General Options. This Plugin allows multiple domains to be configured within Wordpress and updates the Weblog Title, Wordpress Address URL and Blog Address URL on-the-fly based on the value of $_SERVER['SERVER_NAME']

This allows one installation to show different URL paths and a different blog title for each domain.

v1.1 changes: Now allows a different Tagline for each domain.

    1. Download and unpack the archive. If you downloaded the plugin from my site it will unpack to a directory named "AA-DomainMirror", but if you got it from the Wordpress plugin repository it will probably unpack to the direcotory "domain-mirror". Either will work, but you may need to rename the latter to "AA-DomainMirror" if you have problems with some other plugins not seeing the changes. See below.

    2. Copy the whole AA-DomainMirror directory to wp-content/plugins/ If possible, don't change the name of the directory, as the AA- at the start is a horrible hack to ensure that Wordpress loads this plugin first. This is required as any plugin loaded before it won't be able to see the changes it makes, so will behave as if it's still on the default domain. This puzzled me for quite a while.

    3. Go to your Plugins page and activate Domain Mirror.

    4. Go to the Options -> Domain Mirror page and configure.

    5. For more detailed configuration details see:

The following tags can be used in pages and posts:

[dmBlogTitle] - Inserts the current Weblog Title.

[dmWpAddr] - Inserts the current Wordpress Address URL.

[dmBlogAddr] - Inserts the current Blog Address URL.

  17. Best damn gallery plugin available, simple as, uplaod, activate, create folder and use!
see it working on my site

  18. I think there will be people who would like to remove the "Social Sites" tab altogether.

It would be appreciated if someone says how this can be done for the benefit of all.

    Thanks in advance,

  19. I am still unable to upload posts with photos. Text posts upload perfectly fine, but I cannot upload posts with photos. I am still getting the "Server return http response code 502". Is there anything I can do to remedy this? Because bashing my head against the wall is not helping much, and I suspect throwing my phone into the watering hole won't either.

    Nice widget,
but it is useless for me.

  21. Very Nice widget, I always like nice things and appreciate them

  22. @jenpcv - The only known workaround is to add your blog as self-hosted site:

    - Start the app
    - Remove the blog within the app by selecting the delete menu item. (Phone drafts will be deleted!)
    - Tap the add blogs button
    - Select the last option (self hosted blog)
    - Insert this URL (only one http:// at the beginning)
    - Insert your credentials and tap 'Sign In'

Take also a look at your connection settings:
    1. Click "Setup" when in the WordPress app
2a. If you are an individual user (no BES user), Select Direct WiFi, direct TCP, WAP2 and BIS connection types only. (do not select "enable advanced connection settings").
2b. If you are an enterprise user, keep selected WiFi and BES.

  23. Sigh...I've done that all before. It worked once, then started giving me 502 errors for any posts with photos. I guess I'll try it again. Third time's a charm, right?

  24. Everyone: I've released a fix for Wordpress 2.2.

  25. On a particularly long post, I get the error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted

    Anyone else get this?

Cheers. - I'm currently working on version 0.50 which will include an ajax backend (at an initial state of development) and completely refactored code.
