"A server communications error occured / No route to blog"

  1. * Site URL
    * The version of your BlackBerry OS
    * The exact model of BlackBerry device you are using BlackBerry Curve 8310
    * Connection type -- WAP connection - EDGE
    * The version of WordPress for BlackBerry you're using
    * The carrier is Centennial Wireless

In the WP for BB software, in Setup I find WAP 2.0 Gateway checked; farther down, I have Is WAP Connection? checked, and the following info:

    Gateway _______
    Gateway Port 9201
    Source Poart 8205
    Source IP

When I try to add my blog to the WP for BB software, I put in my URL; I'm then prompted to add the xmlrpc end point. When I do that, I ge the error message "A server communications error occured / No route to blog" (My event log is no help; it just lists the error message above over & over.)

So, what am I doing wrong? Am I doing everything right, but the problem is in the software? Am I just beating my head against a wall???

  2. This failure indicates that app was unable to make a connection over net.
A very detailed log is present in the app log file , instead the eventlog contains less informations (only the most important).

Anyway, which type of connection are you using for all other applications?

If you want to use WAP1.0 connection type, you need to set the connection parameter manually (
these parameters are provided to you by your carrier):
    - You need to check the "Enable Personal Setting" option, and fill the field such as username and password, if necessary.
    - you need to check the "Is wap Connection?" option only if you want a wap connection.

  3. I will try messing around with the WAP 1.0 parameters; since I am with Centennial, getting information from them is like getting blood from a turnip, but I will see what I can do.

I am quite familiar with the BlackBerry Desktop Software, but I can't figure out how to access the app log file, which I assume is somewhere in the bowels of my Personal Computer Harddrive.

It might take me a few days to work my way through this; but right now, I am really discouraged, and wondering if I should not just wait till the WP for BB application moves out of Beta.

  4. Hi,

I have the same exact problem.

1st it shows that I need to re-enter my url because it could not find my xmlrpc endpoint.

    I've checked it already >
works fine (or atleast it was what i was told; that its what a working page is supposed to look like).

Anyhow, after I enter the url again with the xmlrpc.php at the end, this error shows up "A server communications error occured. No route to blog"

I dont know what it is, but I have a feeling that there is no transfer of data at all.

I have a Storm running on the Eitsalat (Dubai, UAE) BIS and have the latest wordpress beta softwared isntalled.

PS: I also have a wordpress blog installed on my own domain and have tried connecting to that, but the same thing. Saddest part is that I can't access it due to some firewall settings by my office IT Dept.

Any help with this would be much appreciated as I signed up with only so that I can blog on the move.

    Thanks ,

Currently, the WordPress for Blackberry app isn’t able to make connections through the BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS). We are working to add BIS connection into app as soon as possible.
In the meantime, if your carrier has given to you an alternative way for connecting to net, you can try the following: In the WordPress app, click on Setup, and check “Enable personal connection settings”. You should fill parameters as APN, username, pass. The APN parameters are provided to you by your carrier.
