"You can't manage your blog's post"

  1. I have installed the lates version of WordPress 1.4.3 (I believe it's the latest) to my Torch 9800. I was able to access my Wordpress.org Web site using my 1&1 hosting username and password. I can see my posts (I'm just getting started, so there are but a few entries) but I cannot open any of them or even look at statistics. I always get the error message, "You can't manage your blog's post."

    I don't understand why this is happening. I have edited the app's permission to "allow" for connections, interactions and user data.

  2. Did you get a red triangle with an exclamation point in it beside the name of your blog?
    If so, you should refresh your blog (open the blog screen's and click on the last item "Refresh").

    Keep in mind that the various elements available through the app are determined by your user level.
    Author -- somebody who can publish and manage their own posts
    Editor -- Somebody who can publish posts, manage posts as well as manage other people's posts, etc.

    Thanks for the reply. I don't get the red triangle. I've tried to delete and reinstall the app, including a re-boot after install. I am able to log into the app and see my posts. I am the administrator and sole user of my blog.

    In order to get Stats running on your self hosted blog, you should install and configure the "WordPress.com Stats" plugin -- http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/stats/

    Try to refresh your blog data opening the blog screen's and clicking on the last item "Refresh". This should syncs all blog data between your blog and the mobile app.

  5. This is also happening on my Blackberry 9700 when trying to open a brand new install of 3.0. Refreshing makes no difference. However, it is only happening on sub-blogs within multisite. Is the app supposed to be multisite compatible?

    I noticed that the app picks up a list of posts from the main blog but for all sub-blogs it says 'No posts'.

  6. The solution in my case was to enable XML-RPC on the sub blogs as well as the main blog. The error message you get if it's not enabled only relates to the main blog.

  7. Hi. New here, also using a Torch 9800. Was this ever resolved? I'm having the same problem with my blog hosted by 1&1. Can't find the XML-RPC box in my options. For some reason I can delete blogs from my Blackberry (ouch!), but can't manage them...

  8. Thank you. It seems, in my case, the issue is in the limited aspect of the 1&1 versio of WordPress blog, not BB Torch. Signed on directly to Wordpress and started fresh- no problems now. Post, edit, manage- all good!
